i arrived in Philidelphia on Sunday night for registration and met all the other Peace Corps Trainees (PCT), we’re PCT’s until we swear in as Peace Corps Volunteers (PCV) in August. It has been a lot of fun meeting everyone that is crazy enough to go on this adventure together.
We started training Monday with Let Girls Learn training, a program started by Michelle Obama to improve girls education around the world and it is starting in 12 PC Countries, one of which is Togo! Only 1.5 percent of girls in Togo finish secondary school.
Over the next two days we learned about what to expect for training when we get to Togo, some greetings in Ewe, and did the usual ice breaker stuff. Once we arrive we are being split up by sector (health, agriculture, and education) and start our intensive language training.
